Former 84 game starter Jeremy Trueblood has been reunited with former GM Bruce Allen in Washington after signing a free agent deal on Thursday.
Jeremy Trueblood knew the writing was on the wall last summer when the Buccaneers gave him an ultimatum to take a pay cut or be released. Trueblood was in the final year of a two-year contract and instead of starting over with a new team in training camp the former Boston College product opted to stay with the Buccaneers.

On Thursday Trueblood’s seven-year Tampa Bay career came to a close, when the Indianapolis native signed with the Washington Redskins. Bruce Allen, the Redskins general manager, was in Tampa Bay when Trueblood was selected in the second round of the 2006 draft.

For his career Trueblood played in 105 games with 85 starts. Last season Trueblood began the season as the starter at right tackle, but was replaced by Demar Dotson in Week 2. Trueblood suffered a shoulder injury later in the season and was placed on injured reserve.

Terms of Trueblood’s deal were not released.

Good riddance. Too many penalties, year after year, and he never learned from them. He was a good run blocker, but against elite DEs he was TOAST. Dotson in his first year was good, and his future is all upside. He can block on runs and has good footwork on blocking elite ends too. I didn't think that Penn was any better than Dotson the first year he started at LT. Dotson will grow into an outstanding RT, I believe, if he is left alone. Now he does not have to look over his shoulder anymore, and should Dotson get hurt, I have full confidence that Meredith, who has most of his past experience at Tackle until he had to fill in at RG last year (and played way above expectations, too) So bye, bye Trueblood.
