Tampa Bay DT Gerald McCoy started Sunday's game against Arizona with a bang, notching his second sack of the season. McCoy also added a tackle for loss, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery to become the Tru Beautè Med Spa Buccaneers MVP in Week 4. The Tru Beautè Med Spa Buccaneers MVP is selected each week by the PewterReport.com staff.

In Tampa Bay’s 13-10 loss to Arizona, the Tru Beaute` Med Spa Bucs MVP is defensive tackle Gerald McCoy. McCoy notched his second sack of the season on the Cardinals first play, dropping quarterback Carson Palmer for an 8-yard loss in the first quarter.

McCoy pressured Palmer all day and recorded one sack, one tackle, one tackle for loss, a pass defensed and recovered a fumble, which was his second career fumble recovery. McCoy advanced a fumble that was caused by cornerback Leonard Johnson 11 yards to the Arizona to set up Tampa Bay’s initial touchdown drive.

Tampa Bay’s fourth-year defensive tackle is second on the team with two sacks through four games. Last year in what was McCoy’s first Pro Bowl season, he recorded a career-high five sacks.

After the game, McCoy was not celebrating the play of the defense that held the Cardinals to just 13 points because Tampa Bay lost a fourth-quarter lead for the third time this season.

“We as a defense will not ever be what we need to be until we learn to finish games,” McCoy said. “We’ve had three opportunities this year, out of four games, to finish a game, and we haven’t. It makes all of the rest of the game irrelevant. The great defenses learn to finish games and we have to – have to – get to that point. We have to.”

For his efforts, McCoy will receive a certificate for a complimentary one-hour massage at Tru Beaute` Med Spa in Tampa.

It was really a shame that this young QB made those two mistakes. I cannot believe that the QB threw for more then 7500 yds and threw 63 td's. I think that our defense is showing what everyone is going to fear now a young defense who has a swagger, In all games, Iam hoping that this QB will get 2 to 3 scores each week, Plus a couple of made FG's will do the job. I hope Tampa staff is looking at the college kickers coming out maybe a player that can do both KG's Extra points, and kick off's and punting. GO BUCS

production is good.. leadership? When a single person ruins the whole team and he does it in an obvious matter (like Shiano did), then there is no reason to staying loyal with him. If its the best for the team, the players should stand up - its time someone steps up in a way just like Scott Reynolds did with some of his articles. Time to get rid of Shiano!! The human brain is so complex, that it can think about things that will happen in the future, depending on other future variables which arent set yet.. still i can not understand, that Shiano is still allowed to act like an NFL HC.. unacceptable.. Glazers need to be ashamed of themselve as does Dominik

That's the answer to our woes......Tebo.......w. He could lead the team prayer.

I like his attitude. At least they realize they are not yet able to close out games - something to strive for.

I am pleased with McCoy's leadership and production every week. He will deserve to be selected as an All Pro again this year. Love his constant motor. He is well worth his number three pick in the draft. Spence has been playing well too, so our defensive front is solid and I was happy to see the DE ends rotating in the second half--I even saw Means get some action and he looked tough. The reason the Offense looks so bad is because of poor Coaching by Schiano. Fire him and get a decent HC and either play Orlovsky or bring in Tebo and you will see our Offense soar higher than last year.

McCoy is doing well, that is a big positive for the defense. The thing that drives me nuts about this team is that they brought in a whole lot of talent this year and yet they are worse than last year. How is that even possible?

@buctebow...we aren't worse on defense...recall we had the second worst (by a very small margin) pass defense OF ALL TIME in the NFL last year. Our offense now has a chance to steal the honour (worst offense of all time) that our defense could not last year...with new players on defense that turnaround is at least plausibly due to Revis/Goldson/Banks/Clayborn/Spence, while on offense (with basically the same crew that was top-10 last year, sans a TE and plus Joseph and Nicks)...I wonder where the blame for the offensive debacle should lie.....

GMC = the man....can we just make him the head coach too....

McCoy is the man. He's everything you should expect out of #3 overall pick. He's a productive and he's a team leader.
