The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today they have promoted wide receiver Skye Dawson to the 53-man roster from the team’s practice squad.
Dawson (5-9, 183) joins the Buccaneers active roster after having spent the first six weeks of the season on the team’s practice squad. Dawson, a rookie, played collegiately at Texas Christian, participating in 49 games, with 13 starts. A native of Mesquite, Texas, Dawson recorded 91 career receptions for 1,125 yards and six touchdowns, while also returning 30 punts for 224 yards and earning All-Big 12 honors as a returner his senior season. He will wear No. 18.
In addition, cornerback Danny Gorrer has returned to practice. Gorrer was placed on Injured Reserve/Designated for Return on September 13. They will have two weeks to activate him to the roster.
The team also announced that its signed tackle Emmett Cleary and defensive back Nick Saenz to it practice squad and released tackle Randy Richards from the practice squad.
