There weren't too many bright spots in Tampa Bay’s 27-6 defeat at Carolina, but linebacker Lavonte David had a solid showing for the Buccaneers and is this week's Tru Beautè Med Spa Bucs MVP.

David was second on the team behind strong safety Mark Barron with nine tackles, and also recorded the team's lone tackle for loss, in addition to an interception and a pass breakup at Carolina. The Nebraska product, who is vying for his first NFL Pro Bowl berth, is the only defender in the league with at least five sacks and three interceptions.

David leads Tampa Bay with 107 tackles (73 solo), with 15 tackles for loss, which also leads the team. He's currently 25 tackles ahead of Barron (82) in the Bucs defensive statistics. For the second straight year, David has recorded 100-plus tackles in Tampa Bay. The team's second-round pick in 2012 is tied for the team lead with three interceptions, in addition to seven pass breakups, five sacks and one forced fumble – all of which rank second in Tampa Bay.

For his efforts, David will receive a certificate for a complimentary one-hour massage at Tru Beautè Med Spa in Tampa.
