The rapid growth of social media on the Internet has changed the world of news, entertainment, music and maybe even more so than anything, the landscape of sports.
From the beginning of chat rooms in the early days of the Internet, that soon morphed into platforms like MySpace, Facebook and other social media outlets, the rapid improvements of technology now allows people from all over the world with similar interests to connect in a matter of seconds.
After 21 years of covering the Buccaneers, PewterReport.com (formerly Buccaneer Magazine and Pewter Report), joined the ranks of becoming an all-digital media outlet when the company laid its printed magazine to rest in 2009. Since then we have tried to stay on top of the latest social media trends.
Where the future of social media goes is anyone’s guess. Who could have imagined their smart phones becoming more powerful computers – for a fraction of the cost – than what was on the PC market just 10 years ago?

In 2008, Facebook had 100 million users, and as of January of 2014 has over 1.2 billion users. Like Twitter, PewterReport.com uses Facebook to post news, our latest stories and also interact with our readers.
