Bucs Will Pursue Haynesworth, Possibly Peppers
The Bucs will be one of the teams pursuing Tennessee DT Albert Haynesworth when free agency begins on Feb. 27. Tampa Bay got some good news on Wednesday when Haynesworth said he wouldn't re-sign with the Titans prior to free agency. Could the Bucs also be interested in acquiring Panthers DE Julius Peppers?

Bucs Sign WR Campbell
The day after placing the franchise tag on Antonio Bryant, the Bucs added some more speed and playmaking ability to their WR corps on Thursday by signing Kelly Campbell. Tampa Bay wide receiver Antonio Bryant signed his franchise tender from the Buccaneers on Thursday, guaranteeing him a $9.884 million base salary in 2009. Bryant, 27, led Tampa Bay in receptions in his Bucs debut last season. In other news, former Bucs LB Derrick Brooks will hold a press conference at One Buc Place on Friday.
   
Carlisle Visiting Bucs
Oakland Raiders free agent guard Cooper Carlisle is scheduled to visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today. Carlisle, 31, has spent the past two seasons with Oakland. He has started 69 games since entering the NFL out of Florida.
   
Ward Scheduled To Visit Bucs On Tuesday
New York Giants free agent running back Derrick Ward is scheduled to visit Tampa Bay on Tuesday. Ward, 28, rushed for over 1,000 yards last season. The Bucs did not have interest in Ward when free agency began, but the team apparently has had a change of heart over the last 24 hours.
   
LB Crowell On Tampa Bay's Radar
The Buccaneers have expressed interest in signing Buffalo Bills free agent linebacker Angelo Crowell. The 6-foot-1, 246-pound Crowell, 27, has started 42 games in five seasons with the Bills.

UPDATED: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were believed to be interested in signing New York Giants free agent running back Derrick Ward, but PewterReport.com has learned that the Bucs are not interested in Ward at the moment. Tampa Bay was in the mix for Titans DT Albert Haynesworth, but finished second to Washington, which paid him $100 million over seven years, including $41 million in guaranteed money.
