Practice Squad Players Signed To Future Contracts
UPDATED: The Buccaneers added players from their practice squad to their offseason 80-man roster. The Bucs players were signed to future contracts for the 2010 season that begins in late February. SS Phillips Arrested On Felony Battery Charge
UPDATED 1/11/10: Bucs SS Jermaine Phillips was arrested at 4:50 a.m. on Sunday and charged with domestic battery by strangulation, which is a felony. Phillips remains in a Hillsborough County jail and is being held without bond. The Bucs issued a statement Sunday night.

Williams Interviews For USF Job
Tampa Bay coordinator of pro scouting Doug Williams interviewed USF head coaching job earlier this week, according to several reports. Williams coached at Grambling State from 1998-2003 before re-joining the team. In other news, Bucs WRs coach Richard Mann received permission to interview with the Redskins.

Reports: Gaines Adams Dead At 26
According to reports from various media outlets, former Buccaneer defensive end Gaines Adams has passed away. Adams was 26. Adams was in Greenwood, SC and was taken to the hospital Sunday morning and declared dead. Members of the Buccaneer organization commented on Adams sudden death.

Mann Gone, Bucs Looking For WRs, QBs Coaches
The Bucs have officially parted ways with WRs coach Richard Mann, whose contract was set to expire in February. The Bucs are looking for his replacement, in addition to looking for a QBs coach to work with Josh Freeman and allow Greg Olson to concentrate on calling plays and installing the game plan.

McCardell Wants Bucs WRs Coaching Job
Former Bucs WR Keenan McCardell caught two TDs for Tampa Bay in its Super Bowl XXXVII victory over Oakland in 2002. Now McCardell, who is coaching the West receivers in this year's East-West Shrine Game in Orlando, Fla., wants to catch on as the Bucs' new WRs coach and lobbied for the position.

Berbenich Also In The Running For QBs Coaching Job
The Bucs are actively looking for a new wide receivers coach and quarterbacks coach. Bucs assistant WRs coach Tim Berbenich is under serious consideration for both roles. Berbenich, who has worked under Jon Gruden, Paul Hackett and Greg Olson, is believed to be most interested in the QBs coaching job.
