Tampa Bay has demoted defensive coordinator Jim Bates and handed playcalling duties over to first-year head coach Raheem Morris. Bates, who was hired in the offseason, has overseen a Tampa Bay defense that ranks 27th overall and has allowed a league-high 168 yards rushing per game.
   
Bucs Make Several Roster Moves

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made several roster moves Tuesday, signing QB Rudy Carpenter and WR Terrence Nunn from practice squads in Dallas and New England, respectively, to their 53-man roster. QB Byron Leftwich was put on injured reserve. CB Mike Mickens was cut to make room for Nunn.

   
Bucs Sign Olson To Contract Extension
While Tampa Bay's defensive coordinator position remains unsettled heading into 2010, PewterReport.com is reporting that Greg Olson will return as offensive coordinator.
