UPDATED: Bucs head coach Raheem Morris reportedly informed his team Saturday morning that Byron Leftwich would serve as Tampa Bay's starting quarterback for the 2009 regular season. Morris said that Luke McCown would be the backup quarterback, and hinted the Bucs may keep four quarterbacks on the roster.

Buccaneers starting free safety Tanard Jackson has been suspended for the first four games of the 2009 regular season by the NFL for violating the league's Substances of Abuse Policy. Jackson will be eligible to return to the Bucs' active roster on Monday, October 5 following the Redskins game.
