Bucs Draft CB Biggers In Seventh Round
The Buccaneers used their first of two seventh-round draft picks on Western Michigan cornerback E.J. Biggers on Sunday. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Biggers, who visited the Bucs in April, logged seven interceptions during his collegiate career.
Bucs Use Final Pick On WR Stroughter
With their final pick in the 2009 NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Oregon State wide receiver Sammie Stroughter. The 5-foot-9, 187-pound Stroughter caught 164 passes for 2,653 yards and 14 touchdowns while excelling as a return specialist in college.

Tampa Bay could be without a few players for its mandatory mini-camp, which begins Tuesday. That includes quarterback Brian Griese and center Jeff Faine. Griese has not participated in any OTAs and could be released or traded before training camp. Faine is feeling under the weather.

Bucs Glad To Grab Bruggeman
Former Iowa center Rob Bruggeman was targeted by the Bucs in the seventh round. But when the team traded away one of its three seventh-round picks to move up in the fourth round to get Kyle Moore, Tampa Bay had to resort to signing Bruggeman as an undrafted free agent and the team thinks it has a steal.

The Bucs signed seven try-out players to contracts Monday. The Bucs signed USF DE Jarriett Buie, OL Marc Dile, WR Amari Jackson, Louisville WR Pat Carter, Hofstra RB Kareem Huggins, James Madison CB Evan McCollough and Southern Miss T Demar Dotson. The team also released three players.

Bucs Release WR Mix
The Bucs released WR Anthony Mix Wednesday just hours after a Fox television station in Mobile, Alabama reported Mix had been indicted for having sex with an underage minor by a grand jury. If convicted Mix could have a jail sentence of a year with a $500 fine. Mix signed with Tampa Bay in January of this year.

Bucs Hire Director of Football Administration
