Bucs Aim To Overcome West Coast Woes
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven't historically fared well out West. In fact, the Bucs haven't won a game on the west coast since Super Bowl XXXVII. Tampa Bay will depart for Seattle a day early in an effort to over come its west coast woes.
Smith Doing Well Following Season-Ending Concussion
Bucs return specialist Clifton Smith spoke to the media Wednesday for the first time since being placed on injured reserve due to a concussion he sustained vs. the Panthers earlier this month. If it were up to him, Smith would still be playing, but he said he understood the team's decision.

Bucs QB Josh Freeman cited confusion from the Jets defense for his poor outing. Allen Becomes Redskins G.M. And Executive Vice President
ESPN is reporting that former Bucs G.M. Bruce Allen has been hired by Washington owner Daniel Snyder to serve as the Redskins G.M. and executive vice president. Allen was fired along with coach Jon Gruden on Jan. 16. The Glazers will likely be off the hook for Allen's salary, which was guaranteed through 2011.
Dotson Hoping To Capitalize On Opportunity At Tight End
The Bucs will be without John Gilmore (head injury) when they travel to Seattle to take on the Seahawks this Sunday. Gilmore is considered Tampa Bay's best blocking tight end. The Bucs are attempting to fill the void left by Gilmore by playing rookie tackle Demar Dotson at tight end.

Tampa Bay's defense forced five turnovers while rookie QB Josh Freeman tossed two TDs and just one pick. The Bucs are 2-12 on the year and take on the 13-1 Saints next week.
