Bucs Need To Address Receiver In Offseason
The Bucs are in need of upgrades at several positions in 2010. That includes wide receiver, where Antonio Bryant and Michael Clayton may not even return. The Bucs need to address their need for a playmaking receiver on the first day of the 2010 NFL Draft, which is the topic discussed in this installment of Flynn's Focus.
Bucs Place Cox, Johnson On Injured Reserve
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a few roster moves Monday, placing cornerback Torrie Cox and punter Dirk Johnson on injured reserve. The Bucs have promoted practice squad CB Brandon Anderson to the active roster and likely will sign a punter this week.
Bucs Called To Get Bryant More Involved
On Monday Buccaneers head coach Raheem Morris and QB Josh Freeman talked about the offenses inability to get the ball to WR Antonio Bryant in the second half of the Bucs 20-17 loss to the Falcons. In the second quarter Bryant had two catches for 80 yards and a score, but only one more catch the rest of the game.
Sears Placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness List
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers put guard Arron Sears on the reserve/non-football illness list. Sears had missed the first 10 weeks of the 2009 season while dealing with a personal matter. Sears was reinstated to the team two weeks ago. He will be allowed to continue to work with the team training staff at One Buc Place.
Morris Explains Controversial Decisions
Why attempt a 51-yard field goal and fake punt in the fourth quarter when the Buccaneers had a 17-13 lead? On Monday, Bucs head coach Raheem Morris attempted to answer those questions, which typically come after losses, especially for a 1-10 football team.
Bucs Working Out Punters
The Bucs are working out punters at One Buccaneer Place today in an attempt to fill the void left by Dirk Johnson, who was placed on injured reserve Monday. The Bucs are working out four punters - Danny Baugher, Durant Brooks, Sam Paulescu and Ricky Schmitt.
Clayton Has MCL Sprain, Out 1-2 Weeks
Bucs wide receiver Michael Clayton sprained the MCL in his left knee against Atlanta and is expected to miss 1-2 weeks, including Sunday's contest at Carolina. The injury is not severe enough to place him on injured reserve. He is expected to be replaced in the starting lineup by Maurice Stovall.
Bucs Sign P Paulescu
Tampa Bay signed free agent punter Sam Paulescu Tuesday after working out several free agents in an attempt to fill the void left by Dirk Johnson, who was placed on injured reserve Monday. Paulescu has averaged 42.4 yards per punt in the NFL.

Bucs Make Practice Squad Moves
The Buccaneers made several roster moves related to their eight-man practice squad Wednesday, signing defensive end Josh Leonard and cornerback Jamar Love, and releasing wide receiver Darnell Jenkins.
Paulescu Already A Big Hit At One Buc Place
Tampa Bay return specialist Clifton Smith and new punter Sam Paulescu met well before the former Dallas Cowboy joined the Bucs earlier this week. Paulescu's tackle on Smith in Dallas last year made highlight reels, but Smith said he's a better player for it.
Bucs Bracing For Panthers Ground Game
The Buccaneers are anticipating another battle against the Carolina Panthers running game. In the last two meetings the Bucs have allowed 566 yards rushing. The Bucs improved their run defense last week, and now will be tested at Carolina. Head coach Raheem Morris is said to be taking this game personally.
Bryant Frustrated, But Open To Returning To Tampa Bay
UPDATED: Antonio Bryant is frustrated with the lack of opportunities he's received to catch the football. Bryant, who has been battling a knee ailment, has just 22 catches. He acknowledged his frustration, but said he was open to returning to Tampa Bay next year.Raheem Morris and Greg Olson also commented on Bryant.
Bucs Banged Up Heading Into Carolina
Several Bucs players were limited in practice Wednesday due to their respective injuries. The Carolina Panthers have their fair share of injuries as well. In other news, the Bucs will face Panthers backup QB Matt Moore, and demoted defensive coordinator Jim Bates still is with Tampa Bay.
