S Pool Signs With Jets
UPDATED: Cleveland Browns free agent safety Brodney Pool was scheduled to visit the Buccaneers on Friday, but that visit won't take place. Pool, 25, signed a one-year contract worth $1.3 million with the New York Jets on Thursday.

Bucs Release Three Players
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released three players -- punters Josh Bidwell and Dirk Johnson, and cornerback Torrie Cox -- Thursday just hours before the official start of the free agent signing period. More cuts likely will be made as the Bucs acquire new players this offseason.

Cadillac Williams Receives Ed Block Courage Award
Buccaneers running back Carnell ‘Cadillac' Williams was named the Bucs 2009 Ed Block Courage Award winner. He will be given the award at a banquet in Baltimore, Maryland. The award is given to one player from each NFL team. Williams was second in the Associated Press Comeback Player of the Year Award.
Some Quality WR Options Are No Longer Available To The Bucs
Tampa Bay is in the market for a veteran wide receiver, but some of the players available to the Bucs and other NFL teams have already been acquired. The first day of free agency featured Nate Burleson signing with Detroit, Kevin Walter re-signing with Houston and Anquan Boldin being traded to Baltimore.
Bucs Lose S Allen To Steelers
ESPN's Adam Shefter is reporting that free agent safety Will Allen is signed a three-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Allen was an unrestricted free agent after playing for the Buccaneers from 2004-2009. He was a fourth-round pick out of Ohio State, and started 26 games for Tampa Bay.
Charges Against S Phillips Reduced
Tampa Bay unrestricted free agent S Jermaine Phillips had a felony domestic battery by strangulation charge reduced to a domestic battery misdemeanor charge last week, according to the Tampa Tribune. Phillips, 30, was arrested on Jan. 10 for the incident involving his wife.
Bucs Trade For Philly WR Brown
The Buccaneers have yet to make any free agent signings since free agency started on Friday, March 5, but they did acquire a new player on Monday by trading a 2011 sixth-rounder to Philadelphia for wide receiver Reggie Brown. Brown is expected to compete for a starting receiver spot in Tampa Bay.

Clark Signs With Lions
Tampa Bay Buccaneers free agent wide receiver Brian Clark signed with the Detroit Lions on Tuesday. Clark was a core special teams player for the Buccaneers the past two seasons. Tampa Bay opted not to tender Clark a contract, which allowed him to become an unrestricted free agent.
