Bucs Deny Interest In RB Parker
Sources close to Willie Parker told PewterReport.com on Friday that Tampa Bay had expressed interest in the free agent running back. However, a high-ranking Bucs official disclosed Wednesday that the team had not reached out in any capacity to Parker.
   
Report: S Jones To Visit Bucs
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have scheduled a visit for Thursday with Philadelphia free agent safety Sean Jones, according to the Tampa Tribune. The Bucs are in the market for a safety after losing Will Allen to the Steelers. Tampa Bay would like to replace Allen and find a player that can push Sabby Piscitelli for a starting job.

Bucs Sign S Jones To 2-Year Deal
The Buccaneers signed Philadelphia Eagles free agent safety Sean Jones to a two-year contract Wednesday. Jones, 28, has started 53 games since entering the NFL with Cleveland in 2004. The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Jones is expected to compete with Sabby Piscitelli for the team's starting strong safety job.
   
Alston Signs With Bucs
The Buccaneers have signed free agent LB Jon Alston. Alston was not tendered by the Oakland Raiders after his fourth season in the league. He was drafted in the third round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. Alston projects to be a special teams player and depth at linebacker. Contract terms were not disclosed.
   
Bucs Officially Get 7th-Rounder For McCown
Bucs general manager Mark Dominik made an impromptu appearance at the Pewter Report Get2Gether at Champps on Saturday, and informed those in attendance Tampa Bay will officially get a seventh-round pick for QB Luke McCown. Dominik also discussed new LB Jon Alston and WR Reggie Brown.
