The Tampa Bay Buccaneers plan on taking five quarterbacks to training camp when they report to Celebration Hotel on Friday.
However, many believe the Bucs could be interested in adding another one to their roster.
The Green Bay Packers have talked to several teams, including some NFC clubs, regarding the possibility of trading retired quarterback Brett Favre, according to NFL.com.
Favre, 38, retired from the NFL in March, but recently made it known that he wishes to play football again in 2008. The Packers have said they've moved on and intend on starting Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, which is why the Packers reportedly are attempting to find out what level of interest other teams have in trading for the future Hall of Fame quarterback.
Many pundits have suggested that the Buccaneers could be one of the teams interested in acquiring Favre, who completed 66.5 percent of his passes for 4,155 yards and tossed 28 touchdowns and 15 interceptions en route to leading the Packers to a 13-3 regular season record and an appearance in the NFC Championship Game in 2007.
While Tampa Bay hasn't been shy about acquiring quarterbacks due to the rash of injuries the team has suffered at that position since head coach Jon Gruden's arrival in 2002, the Bucs aren't saying much regarding the Favre rumors.
"We'll let the Packers talk for their team," Bucs general manager Bruce Allen said. "I think they've been very forthcoming with their thoughts lately and we'll let them discuss their situation."
