On Friday, Bucs head coach Raheem Morris disclosed the latest news regarding Tampa Bay's injury report for Sunday's game vs. the Dallas Cowboys.
Bucs rookie cornerback E.J. Biggers (shoulder) has been ruled out of the game. Tampa Bay promoted second-year CB Kyle Arrington from the practice squad to the active roster on Thursday due to Biggers' injury.
Tight end John Gilmore (ankle) and linebacker Adam Hayward (ankle) are listed as doubtful for Sunday's contest. Rookie defensive lineman Kyle Moore (groin) is listed as questionable for Tampa Bay's 2009 regular season home opener.
Defensive tackle Ryan Sims was held out of Friday's practice. Bucs head coach Raheem Morris suggested the plan was to rest him, not due to injury, but Sims is listed as probable on the injury report. In the meantime, Bucs rookie DT Roy Miller took first-team reps with the defense Friday.
Bucs wide receivers Antonio Bryant (knee) and Michael Clayton (hamstring) are listed as probable for Sunday's game.
The next time the Buccaneers take the field together will be Saturday for a walk-thru, and then Sunday, which is when Tampa Bay is scheduled to host the Dallas Cowboys at Raymond James Stadium.
QUOTE OF THE DAY Bucs running back Derrick Ward on his team's offense while speaking on The Monty Show on Sporting News Radio:
“I’ll put our offense up against any offense in the NFL. You can write that down on the internet sites and all that stuff. The offense that we have now can match up with any offense in the NFL. On Sundays, just because you have the big names doesn’t mean that it’s automatically going to come about with yards and touchdowns, you gotta prove it on Sundays. On paper, we stack up with anybody else.”
