Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Derrick Brooks will miss the Pro Bowl due to a knee injury, the NFL announced Tuesday.
Brooks, who notched a team-high 172 tackles, three sacks, one interception and three forced fumbles en route to being voted to a franchise-high eighth straight Pro Bowl, will be replaced by Carolina Panthers LB Mark Fields, who missed the 2003 season while battling Hodgkin’s disease.
With Brooks out of the Pro Bowl, cornerback Ronde Barber will be the only player to represent the Bucs in the Feb. 13 all-star game, which will be played in Honolulu, Hawaii.
