PewterReport.com confirmed earlier reports today that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have brought aboard former Florida State defensive back Javien Elliott.
As stated by an article on 724sports.com, Elliott, who went undrafted in April, signed a free-agent deal this afternoon. He was not retained by the Pittsburgh Steelers after taking part in their rookie mini-camp earlier this spring.
Listed at 5-foot-11, 176 pounds, Elliott was elevated to scholarship status after beginning as a walk-on. The Panama City native finished last season with 37 tackles, four for a loss, one sack and one interception. Elliott was also nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy, which recognizes the nation’s top player that began his career as a walk-on.
