first reported on Jan. 11 that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had signed quarterback Bruce Eugene, wide receivers Efrem Hill, Jovan Bouknight, Chad Owens and Kyle Smith, safety Tra Boger and linebacker Evan Benjamin to future contracts.

On Wednesday, the Buccaneers made those signings official while announcing several others, future contracts for center/guard Jonathan Clinkscale, wide receivers Chas Gessner and Chad Lucas, fullback Jon Goldsberry, tight end Keith Heinrich, cornerback Carlos Hendricks and tackle Dennis Roland. All seven of those players spent at least part of the 2006 season on Tampa Bay’s practice squad.

In all, the Bucs signed 14 players to future contracts. The Bucs and the rest of the NFL’s teams will be allowed to start signing unrestricted free agents on Mar. 2, which is when the free-agent signing period is scheduled to begin.
