The 2015 NFL preseason has officially kicked off, and there are only a few weeks left until the regular season begins and Tampa Bay squares off Tennessee in the season opener. While the Bucs offense didn’t exactly light it up in Jameis Winston’s debut in a 26-16 loss at Minnesota on Saturday night, the pieces are in place for Dirk Koetter’s unit to be quite potent this year – especially from a fantasy football perspective.
PewterReport.com has partnered with DraftKings, the leader in daily fantasy sports, to bring you the best in daily fantasy football contests and they are kicking off the 2015 season with a bang.
DraftKings’ $10 Million NFL Millionaire Maker game costs just $20 to play and there is a $2 million top prize and a $1 million second-place prize. The top 125,700 finishing positions are paid out, too.
It’s the biggest fantasy football contest of all time, and it goes live on Sunday, September 13 at 1:00 pm ET.
Here’s how to play. You can select your team with salary cap-style drafting with $50,000 to select 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 Flex, 1 Defense-Special Teams unit from the list provided on DraftKings. Because there is no fantasy draft involving other participants, you can select whichever players you like as long as they fit under your weekly salary cap.
The good news for Bucs fans is that there are some real bargains in DraftKings’ $10 Million NFL Millionaire Maker contest. Here are the notable Bucs offensive player values for this Week 1 contest along with NFL players valued equal or above them for perspective:
QB – Jameis Winston $6,000 (Andy Dalton $6,100, Marcus Mariota $6,000)
RB – Doug Martin $4,500 (Tevin Coleman $4,800, Isaiah Crowell $4,600)
WR – Mike Evans $7,700 and Vincent Jackson $6,000 (AJ Green $7,800, Anquan Boldin $6,200)
TE – Austin Seferian-Jenkins $3,400 (Kyle Rudolph $3,500, Delaine Walker $3,400)
D-ST – Bucs $2,800 (Jets $2,900, Lions $2,800)
Of course you don’t have to select any Buccaneers players for DraftKings’ $10 Million NFL Millionaire Maker contest. You can select Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers and have Pittsburgh’s Antonio Brown and Cincinnati’s A.J. Green for this Week 1 contest if you’d like. Yet with the Buccaneers opening the season against the Titans, who are also coming off a 2-14 season, perhaps a Tampa Bay skill position player or two paired with the Bucs defense, who will be facing rookie Marcus Mariota, would be a wise investment.
Once you register for a free account on DraftKings, it costs just $20 to enter the DraftKings’ $10 Million NFL Millionaire Maker – and there even some free fantasy football games to play, too.
With DraftKings there is no season-long commitment, which helps you avoid injuries and dealing with draft day busts. You can play on your desktop, tablet and mobile devices, and there are DraftKings aps for Android and Apple iOS phones and tablets.
