That's because the Bucs are one of four finalists to play a regular season game in the United Kingdom in 2008.
According to ESPN, the other teams receiving consideration for the overseas contest in '08 are Kansas City, New Orleans and Seattle. ESPN also reported that the game likely would be played in October.
The NFL held a regular season game in the UK during the 2007 regular season when the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins met.
If the Buccaneers were selected by the NFL to play a regular season game in UK next season, it wouldn't be the first time Tampa Bay played a game overseas.
Just months after winning Super Bowl XXXVII, Tampa Bay played the New York Jets in the 2003 preseason in Tokyo, Japan.
The Buccaneers are not opposed to playing one of their 2008 regular season games in the United Kingdom, where the Glazer family's Manchester United soccer team calls home.
"The NFL has informed us that we are being considered as one of the teams to participate in next season's international regular season game in the UK," Bucs director of public relations Jeff Kamis said in a statement. "With the NFL already having awarded Tampa next year's Super Bowl, playing in a overseas game in the same season would provide even more worldwide exposure to the Tampa Bay area."
It is not yet known which team would use one of its eight regular season home games for its contest in England. Last year, both the Giants and Dolphins had bye weeks following their game in the United Kingdom.
The National Football League is expected to announce the two teams in the week leading up to Super Bowl XLII in Arizona.
