LAST WEEK: The Miami Dolphins visited Buffalo and were downed by the hometown Bills last Sunday, 20-14. The Bills went into halftime with a 17-0 lead and held on to win the game. The Dolphins were penalized a franchise-high 18 times for 102 yards, and the Bills dominated the time of possession, 35:12 to 24:28. Miami outgained Buffalo 323-236, but Dolphins QB Gus Frerotte tossed three interceptions and rookie RB Ronnie Brown, who rushed for 97 yards on 17 carries, had a costly fumble in the fourth quarter. Miami DE Jason Taylor notched two sacks and a forced fumble vs. the Bills.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were downed by the hometown New York Jets last Sunday, 14-12. The Bucs were without rookie RB Cadillac Williams, which caused the offense to sputter. Tampa Bay converted just 2-of-14 (14 percent) of its third down attempts and failed to reach the end zone vs. New York’s defense. Bucs QB Brian Griese tossed a costly interception to Jets CB Ty Law in the second quarter. Law returned the pick 43 yards to Tampa Bay’s 8-yard line, which set up the first of two RB Curtis Martin touchdown runs on the day. The Bucs were also penalized 12 times for 87 yards. Bucs K Matt Bryant accounted for all 12 of Tampa Bay’s points, going 4-for-4 on field goal attempts.

THE LAST TIME THESE TEAMS MET:
The Bucs and Dolphins last clashed during the 2000 regular season. Tampa Bay escaped Miami with a 16-13 win over the Dolphins.
