Just a few days after hiring Southern California defensive line coach Jethro Franklin to replace Rod Marinelli, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have hired another Trojans assistant coach.
According to the Los Angeles Daily News, the Bucs have hired USC secondary coach Greg Burns for their vacant defensive backs coaching position, which became available when Mike Tomlin left Tampa Bay last month to become the defensive coordinator in Minnesota.
Burns originally joined the Trojans in 2002. Both Burns and Franklin worked with Trojans offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, who is the son of Bucs defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin.
The Bucs are in the process of interviewing candidates to fill their offensive and defensive quality control coaching positions.
