The Buccaneers are targeting several free agent offensive linemen, and New Orleans free agent tackle Jon Stinchcomb’s name was added to the list Friday when Stinchcomb’s agent had preliminary and general discussions regarding the Bucs’ interest in signing him.
The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Stinchcomb originally entered the NFL in 2003 as a second-round pick out of Georgia.
Stinchcomb, 26, has started 16 of the 26 games he’s played in during his four-year career. All 16 of those starts came last season when Stinchcomb started every regular season game at right tackle for the Saints.
According to Stinchcomb’s agent, his client is not currently scheduled to visit with the Buccaneers.
In addition to Stinchcomb, Tampa Bay is attempting to re-sign offensive lineman Sean Mahan and sign free agent tackle Luke Petitgout and guard Eric Steinbach.
