With the 2008 NFL Draft just a month away, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on the road at various college pro day workouts and are in the process of scheduling private workouts and visits to One Buccaneer Place in the coming weeks. PewterReport.com’s sources have dished out the inside scoop on 20 draft prospects.

Appalachian State WR Dexter Jackson – The Bucs put him through a private workout at Appalachian State and will bring him in to Tampa for a visit in April.

Cal WR Lavelle Hawkins – The Bucs may like Hawkins, who starred at the Senior Bowl, better than his Cal teammate, DeSean Jackson. Hawkins will visit One Buc Place in April.

Iowa DB Charles Godfrey – Godfrey has the size and toughness to play either safety or cornerback. He is set to visit Tampa in April.

Kent State CB Jack Williams – The stock of 5-foot-9, 177-pound Williams is rising due to a great showing at the NFL Scouting Combine and his pro day where he ran a 4.32 in the 40-yard dash and had a 41-inch vertical jump. The Bucs plan on bringing Williams in for a free agent visit.

Louisville QB Brian Brohm – In case he slips to Tampa Bay at number 20, Jon Gruden wants to be prepared. He will work out Brohm, who ran a 4.61 in the 40-yard dash at his pro day, in April.

Louisville WR Mario Urrutia – The Bucs like big wide receivers and the 6-foot-5, 232-pound Urrutia fits the bill. He just ran a 4.48 in his 40-yard dash and Tampa Bay will be having him in for a private workout in April.

Michigan QB Chad Henne – Gruden wants to take a close look at Henne, who will be available in the second round and possibly the third round. The Bucs are expected to fly to California for a private workout.

Michigan WR Adrian Arrington – Arrington trains with his Wolverine teammate Henne in California and will also get a look from Tampa Bay.

San Diego QB Josh Johnson – Bucs quarterbacks coach Greg Olson had a private workout with Johnson, who is a personal favorite of Bucs personnel executive Doug Williams.

Texas RB Jamaal Charles – Sources tell PewterReport.com that both general manager Bruce Allen and running backs coach Rich Bisaccia were on hand to work out Charles, who could be a second-round target. Charles is scheduled to visit Tampa in April.

USC DE Lawrence Jackson – The Bucs are looking for help along the defensive line and are supposed to bring Jackson in for a visit in April.

USF CB Mike Jenkins – Bucs defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin attended the USF pro day on March 7 and had Jenkins over at One Buccaneer Place a week later to watch film and have a private workout.

USF CB Trae Williams – Kiffin and the Bucs got a look at Williams at the USF pro day, and like Jenkins, he was brought in for a film session and a workout at One Buc Place with Jenkins.

Virginia Tech OT Duane Brown – After a great showing at the NFL Scouting Combine and his phenomenal pro day, Brown, who is a left tackle, has a visit lined up in Tampa in April.

Virginia Tech CB Brandon Flowers – The Bucs like Flowers’ aggressiveness and instincts. He improved his 40-yard dash time at his pro day and is set to visit One Buccaneer Place in April.

Bucs defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin was in attendance at Florida’s pro day to watch defensive end Derrick Harvey, a projected first-round pick, work out. … Tampa Bay linebackers coach Gus Bradley was on hand at the USF pro day to watch Bulls middle linebacker Ben Moffitt perform. … Bucs defensive backs coach Raheem Morris attended the pro days of two of the best cornerbacks in the draft – Leodis McKelvin (Troy) and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (Tennessee State). … Tampa Bay's top brass was at the Virginia Tech pro day to watch a host of Hokies – cornerback Brandon Flowers, left tackle Duane Brown, wide receiver Eddie Royal, linebacker Xavier Adibi and defensive tackle Carlton Powell. … The Bucs were taking great interest in Cal wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins and tight end Craig Stevens at the Golden Bears pro day.
