Bucs head coach Lovie Smith has been reminded fans, players and the media that his football team, despite having just two wins on the season, is still in the NFC South playoff race.
Despite the loss to the Bears on Sunday, the Buccaneers lost no ground as the division-leading Atlanta Falcons lost to the Cleveland Browns 26-24.
The Saints (4-6) will host the Ravens on Monday night and could take the division lead with a win. Carolina had a bye week on Sunday.
Tampa Bay (2-9) has Detroit, and Carolina on the road and home games against Cincinnati, Green Bay and New Orleans to finish the season.
The division-leading Falcons (4-7) have road games left at New Orleans and Green Bay along with home games against Arizona, Pittsburgh and Carolina to close out the season.
Second place New Orleans (4-6) will travel to Pittsburgh, Chicago and Tampa Bay and home games against Baltimore, Carolina and Atlanta.
Carolina (3-7-1) still must to travel to Minnesota, New Orleans and Atlanta while still hosting Tampa Bay and Cleveland.

It’s such a shame that, in spite of the poor play, we couldn’t manage to pull out a few wins when leading in the 4th quarter.
It would be an embarrassment to make the playoffs at this point. It’s not like we would make any noise anyways.
