The Buccaneers expressed interest in signing then-free agent offensive tackle Fred Miller in August. Tampa Bay worked out Miller at One Buccaneer Place on Aug. 26.
Several media outlets reported that the Buccaneers offered Miller, 35, a contract, but Miller's agent, Harold Lewis, told PewterReport.com this week that the Bucs never offered Miller a deal.
The 6-foot-7, 314-pound Miller has started 164 of the 186 games he's played in since entering the league in 1996. Lewis said that five teams expressed interest in signing Miller before he opted to re-sign with Chicago on Wednesday.
