Bucs Release Andrus
On Wednesday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers released kicker Shane Andrus, a move that was announced on the team’s official website, Buccaneers.com.
The move comes after the Bucs signed New York Jets free agent K Mike Nugent to compete with veteran Matt Bryant for the starting kicker job in 2009.
Bucs Draft Order Determined
Although there’s always a chance Tampa Bay could be awarded one or more compensatory picks, the Bucs’ 2009 NFL Draft order is now known.
The Bucs have a total of eight draft picks, three of which are in the seventh round. Tampa Bay is without its second-round selection due to the trade for Cleveland tight end Kellen Winslow.

Crowell, Paymah Visiting Other Teams
Tampa Bay was busy visiting with several free agents earlier this week, including cornerbacks Karl Paymah (Denver) and Daven Holly (Cleveland), tackle Khalif Barnes (Jacksonville) and linebacker Angelo Crowell.
While the Bucs are still interested in signing those free agents, some have visited with other teams.
On Wednesday, Paymah visited San Francisco. Crowell visited with Detroit, according to Rotoworld.com.
Several new members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers received their jersey numbers Wednesday.
Tight end Kellen Winslow, who sported jersey number 80 in Cleveland, is No. 84, which was previously held by wide receiver Joey Galloway. Running back Derrick Ward, who sported 34 with the Giants, is wearing former RB Warrick Dunn's jersey number 28.
New linebacker Niko Koutouvides is wearing LB Shelton Quarles' old jersey number 53. Kicker Mike Nugent, who wore number 1 in New York, is number 5 while wide receiver Paris Warren has taken jersey number 1.
