LAST WEEK: The Carolina Panthers jumped out to a 28-0 lead at home against Arizona and never looked back, downing the Cardinals 35-10. Panthers wide receiver Mushin Muhammad caught six passes for 118 yards and scored two touchdowns. Running back Nick Goings rushed 22 times for 121 yards and scored three touchdowns. Quarterback Jake Delhomme completed 12-of-25 passes for 157 yards and tossed two touchdowns and one interception. Carolina dominated on defense, sacking Arizona QB Shaun King four times and forcing him to fumble four times. King completed 28-of-52 passes for 343 yards and one touchdown and three interceptions. Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald caught seven passes for 92 yards and one touchdown. Panthers left defensive end Julius Peppers notched two sacks.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the San Francisco 49ers in impressive fashion at Raymond James Stadium last Sunday, 35-3. Bucs quarterback Brian Griese completed 74 percent of his passes and tossed two touchdowns and two interceptions. Running back Michael Pittman rushed 21 times for 106 yards (5.0 avg.) and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Joe Jurevicius caught five passes, two of which went for touchdowns. The Bucs converted 58 percent of their third down tries and only allowed the 49ers to convert 8 percent of their own. San Fran QB Tim Rattay was sacked five times and picked off by cornerback Torrie Cox, who returned it 55 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

THE LAST TIME THESE TWO TEAMS MET: November 9, 2003: Tampa Bay and Carolina clashed at Bank of America Stadium in this contest and the Panthers sent the Bucs home with a 27-24 loss.

BUCS-PANTHERS SERIES: The Buccaneers are 4-3 all-time against the Panthers, including 2-2 in games played in Carolina. The Panthers swept the Bucs last season.
