BUCS QUARTERBACK JEFF GARCIA ON HIS OVERALL THOUGHTS OF THE GAME
"It was a disappointing finish and a disappointing start to the game obviously. We are much better than that obviously. We didn't come out doing what we usually do in the first half. We missed some opportunities. The second half I thought the team played extremely hard, and made plays. Just not enough plays, just a disappointing end to that game. We had a chance."

GARCIA ON THE INTERCEPTION ON THE BUCS LAST PLAY
"They played a two-man with a linebacker alert. On fourth and seven we were just trying to get enough for the first down. I tried to squeeze it into Ike (Hilliard). I just needed to be more aware of where the linebacker was sitting. It was right in his hands and that is something that you can't do in that sort of situation."

GARCIA ON THE POSITIVES FROM THE GAME
"I think there were a lot of opportunities on the field that were left out there. Receivers having opportunities to make plays, and me just needing to get them a better chance to make plays. I need to play better from the quarterback position. I think we had to move the ball we found ways to move the football, but we didn't make enough plays today. I think our defense did a great job against a very explosive offense. We needed to help them out with less three and outs and more use of the clock with converting more opportunities."

GARCIA ON HIS PHYSICAL HEALTH
"I'm fine. There is not a problem. I'm fine physically."

BUCS CORNERBACK PHILLIP BUCHANON ON THE GAME HAVING A PLAYOFF ATMOSPHERE
"Oh yeah we have to tip our hats to the Saints. They made more plays than us today and at the same time we just have to go back to the film room and see what we need to correct for next week."

BUCHANON ON HIS INTERCEPTION RETURN FOR A TOUCHDOWN

"I was going through my progressions. Drew Brees threw the ball and Barrett (Ruud) made a great hit. It was kind of like a tipped ball and I just made a good play on the ball and I was thinking I got to score."

BUCHANON ON THE BUCS GIVING UP THE BIG PLAYS DOWNFIELD

"That was definitely an emphasis in the offseason. We emphasized not giving up big plays. We gave up big plays today, but it happens. It was the first game of the season and we'll go back to the drawing board and definitely correct it."

BUCS RUNNING BACK EARNEST GRAHAM ON THE LONG TOUCHDOWN DRIVE THE OFFENSE HAD

"Definitely all game we were fighting. Guys were making plays Ike Hilliard, Warrick Dunn, myself, Alex Smith were all contributing. We did a lot of little things early on and in the second half that I think hurt ourselves. They stepped up and made the plays they needed to make and that is why they won the game."

GRAHAM ON THE FINAL DRIVE

"We definitely wanted to go out there and execute and we were in a great situation. We did all we could. They made a play at the end of the game. Whoever makes the plays wins."

BUCS HEAD COACH JON GRUDEN ON HIS GENERAL THOUGHTS OF THE GAME
"Well it was a hard fought game and obviously we are very disappointed. A lot of guys I believe played their hearts out. We lost to a good team at their place. There are some things we got to do better to win games like this."

GRUDEN ON THE SECOND HALF

"I thought both offenses were a bit sluggish at the beginning. They picked up steam in the second half after making some adjustments. I really believe that at the end of the day they made a play or two more than we did. That was a deciding factor."

GRUDEN ON GARCIA'S PLAY

"He's a great competitor and he gives us everything he has. His time away from center is well documented. We got a lot of guys that played in those situations today: B.J. Askew, Joey Galloway, Antonio Bryant. We got a lot of guys that have been idle for injury purposes. I can only comment when I see the tape. He made some really good plays. I'm sure there are three or four plays that he usually makes that he didn't. As coach you're talking to he has to take responsibility for it."

GRUDEN ON REGGIE BUSH'S TOUCHDOWN

"I'm pretty sure it was an audible by Brees. He caught us in a man-to-man situation, basically a good call by Drew and Sean Payton. We got congested in our coverage and he outflanked us. If that guy two or three or five steps on you then you're in trouble. That's basically what happened there."

GRUDEN ON THE FINAL DRIVE OF THE GAME

"It was a good drive. Our two-minute offense had been good to us with Jeff. We had a good drive at the end of the first half, a good drive at the end to finish it. Obviously fourth and six the Saints substituted and went with a three-man rush I do believe, and they were going to contest all throwing lanes. What can I say, [ linebacker Scott] Fujita made a great play and won the football game."

WHAT WAS THE INTENT
"We had the right play called. We had Ike and Antonio coming hard on the inside routes, Joey pushing down the middle if we had the right look. Unfortunately they had an extra guy in coverage and our protection may not have held long enough for us to find Ike, but that is football. It came down to a fourth and six play. We made several plays to put our team in position to win it. We just for whatever reason weren't able to get it done today."

GRUDEN ON INJURIES TO WR MAURICE STOVALL AND LB DERRICK BROOKS

"We don't know. Before I say anything about Derrick Brooks I just want to be right. In fairness to the fans if I knew I'd tell you. We're concerned obviously and we'll update you as soon as we can. Maurice got a stinger I believe in his shoulder or his neck, his high shoulder back of his neck. He wasn't able to return and that hurt us a great deal. You got to respond. We'll lean on (wide receiver Michael) Clayton and we'll lean on our football team, and we'll update you as soon as possible when we get the injury facts."

GRUDEN ON THE OUTLOOK GOING INTO THE HOME OPENER NEXT SUNDAY

"We lost our opener last year in Seattle in a similar fashion. We played our hearts out on the road. We came up short but this is a good football team with high character and we're looking forward to seeing our fans next week."
