BUCS DL PATRICK CHUKWURAH ON HIS PERFORMANCE AND RETURN
"I was just glad to have the opportunity. I sat at my house all through preseason just hoping to get the chance. I got the chance and wanted to take full advantage of it tonight."

BUCS ROOKIE QB JOSH JOHNSON ON HIS OUTING VS. THE TEXANS
"I played pretty well. I had a couple of bonehead mistakes that I need to correct. It was fun, though. It was my first opportunity to get in a game and get involved in the game. If felt really good."

BUCS HEAD COACH JON GRUDEN ON TAMPA BAY'S 16-6 WIN OVER HOUSTON
"It might be another preseason game, but I'm really proud of our players. We got to play a lot of players that maybe aren't really familiar to our fans, but they stepped up. On both sides of the ball there were some good things."

GRUDEN ON DEXTER JACKSON'S 83-YARD PUNT RETURN FOR A TOUCHDOWN
"[Special teams coordinator] Rich Bisaccia is really good at what he does. We made an emphasis this week to try and get Dexter some better looks because last week was inexcusable. Our guys delivered. We had some good face-up blocks. He had a chance to cut and found a crease. God help everybody if he finds a crease. He's a finisher and that was an outstanding play in the game. He also had a 14-yard reverse and created a long pass interference all in the passing game. Those were big, explosive plays by a rookie, and that's exciting for us."

GRUDEN ON WHICH PLAYERS STOOD OUT TO HIM
"Josh Johnson stood out. Let's be honest. Your fifth quarterback goes into the game and makes some real athletic plays. There were four or five plays that were mindboggling, but he did some good things to move our football team. A lot of guys stood out. I was impressed with so many guys. I thought defensively, particularly our safety play, the guys made some plays on the back end. I thought [cornerback] Elbert Mack showed up again. When you hold a team to [195] yards of offense you're playing good defense. There were some good things."

GRUDEN ON THE UPCOMING ROSTER CUTS
"You have to take a good look at who else is out there. There are 22 players on every team that need to be released, so you have to weigh who you like. Who can help us win another NFC South title and world championship? That's the only thing that matters. We have to find the right 53 guys, not necessarily the best 53 that are here. It will be tough. Some of these guys proved tonight that they are Buccaneers. We're excited to get the season started, but we're also respectful about what we have to do."

GRUDEN'S FINAL COMMENTS ON THURSDAY'S GAME IN HOUSTON
"We had a lot of things happen tonight that were important. I thought Matt Bryant kicking three field goals there at the end really should catapult him to an outstanding season. I thought [tight end] Ben Troupe stepped up tonight. We have some tough decisions to make. We're a good football team, but we don't want to be good. We want to be great, and there's a big difference."
