The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made two roster moves on the eve of their game against the Detroit Lions. promoting tight end Keith Heinrich from the practice squad to the active roster and releasing tackle Dennis Roland.
The 6-foot-6, 265-pound Heinrich was promoted due to TE Alex Smith's ankle injury, which he sustained last Sunday against Tennessee. Smith did not practice this week.
Smith and three other injured Bucs players – defensive end Patrick Chukwurah (shoulder), cornerback Brian Kelly (groin) and Michael Pittman (ankle) – did not make the trip to Detroit for Sunday's contest.
