Heller, 24, has hauled in 14 career passes for 113 yards (8.1 avg.) and two touchdowns in 19 games (three starts) with the Bucs.
He originally entered the NFL in 2003 as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech. Last season, Heller caught 12 passes for 98 yards and one touchdown before being placed on injured reserve on Dec. 14.
The Bucs have six tight ends — Heller, Anthony Becht, Alex Smith, Nate Lawrie, Dave Moore and Robert Johnson — on their offseason roster.
