LAST SEASON: The Washington Redskins finished the 2003 regular season with a 5-11 record. The Redskins compiled a 3-5 record at FedEx Field in what turned out to be head coach Steve Spurrier’s last season in Washington.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went 7-9 in 2003 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 1998. The Bucs were 4-4 on the road during the ’03 regular season.

THE LAST TIME THESE TWO TEAMS MET: October 12, 2003: Tampa Bay visited Washington last season and escaped FedEx Field with a 35-13 win over the hometown Redskins. The Bucs scored 21 points in the fourth quarter and defensive end Simeon Rice notched four sacks en route to a big win.
