The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released three players – cornerback Ukee Dozier, running back Johnathan Reese and defensive tackle Keith Wright – on Wednesday.
Those three roster moves were made in an effort to get closer to complying with league rules that state each team is only allowed to bring 80 players (plus NFL Europe exemptions) to training camp.
The Bucs will likely make more roster moves over the next 24 hours. They need to clear out approximately $4.6 million in cap room for their rookie pool, which consists of 12 players and a total of just over $6 million.
Tampa Bay will bring a total of 91 players to training camp when it reports to Celebration Hotel in Orlando on Thursday afternoon. That number includes 10 NFL Europe exemptions and safety Claudius Osei, who will go to camp with the Bucs as a member of the NFL’s International Development Practice Squad program.
