LAST WEEK: The New Orleans Saints lost to the hometown Arizona Cardinals last Sunday, 34-10. Saints tailback Aaron Stecker was held to 23 yards rushing on eight carries, but he led his team in receiving with six catches for 71 yards. Cardinals RB Emmitt Smith rushed 21 times for 127 yards. He also rushed for a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were defeated by the visiting Denver Broncos last Sunday, 16-13. The Bucs defense allowed the Broncos to convert 47 percent of their third down attempts. Their offense failed to take advantage of good field position throughout the game. Bucs rookie wide receiver Michael Clayton hauled in four passes for 91 yards and scored one touchdown. Running back Michael Pittman rushed 15 times for 72 yards.
THE LAST TIME THESE TWO TEAMS MET: December 7, 2003: Tampa Bay and New Orleans clashed in the Superdome in their last meeting and the Bucs escaped with a 14-7 win over the Saints.
