The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed free agent defensive end Moe Thompson Friday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Thompson, who played collegiately at South Carolina from 2002-04, was a tryout player at the Bucs’ rookie mini-camp last weekend. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Thompson is just the second tryout player to be inked to a contract by the Bucs.
On Monday, Tampa Bay signed tryout cornerback Rueben Houston to a contract.
In three seasons with the Gamecocks, Thompson played in 35 career games, notching 176 tackles, 14 sacks, eight fumble recoveries, two interceptions and 19 passes defensed.
