The Buccaneers made two roster moves on the eve of their showdown with the Carolina Panthers, signing safety Donte Nicholson and waiving wide receiver Chad Lucas.

The 6-foot-1, 216-pound Nicholson originally entered the NFL with the Bucs in 2005 as a fifth-round draft pick out of Oklahoma. He has played in 10 career games with the Bucs and will sport jersey No. 30.

The addition of Nicholson comes just a few days after the Bucs placed rookie Sabby Piscitelli on injured reserve with a fractured foot he suffered last Sunday vs. the St. Louis Rams.

Lucas, who spent training camp and preseason with the Bucs, was promoted from the practice squad to Tampa Bay’s active roster earlier in the week.
