LAST WEEK: Houston suffered its second loss of the 2005 preseason last weekend when it lost to in-state rival Dallas, 21-9. The Texans’ only touchdown of the game came in the fourth quarter when Reggie Swinton returned a kickoff 102 yards for a score. Dallas produced 158 yards rushing vs. Houston, and Cowboys QB Drew Bledsoe completed 11 of 18 passes for 113 yards. Texans QB David Carr was 7 of 19 for 52 yards and tossed two interceptions.
Tampa Bay fell to 1-2 on the preseason by losing the Miami last Saturday, 17-14. Dolphins running back Ricky Williams rushed 10 times for 59 yards (5.9 avg.) and scored a touchdown. Dolphins wide receiver Danny Farmer hauled in the game-winning touchdown on a 36-yard pass in the fourth quarter. Bucs RB Earnest Graham rushed 14 times for 60 yards and scored the team’s only touchdown of the game. Rookie WR J.R. Russell caught four passes for 74 yards.
THE LAST TIME THESE TEAMS MET: Tampa Bay and Houston last clashed during the 2004 preseason. The Buccaneers escaped Houston with a 17-9 win over the hometown Texans.
