LAST YEAR: The Titans finished the 2004 regular season with a 5-11 record and in last place in the AFC South division. They produced just a 2-6 record at home last season.

The Bucs also produced a 5-11 record in ’04 and finished ranked in last place in the NFC South division. The Pewter Pirates struggled on the road, going just 1-7 in games played away from Raymond James Stadium.

THE LAST TIME THESE TEAMS MET: The last time Tampa Bay played Tennessee in preseason, the Titans were actually known as the Houston Oilers. That meeting took place in 1989, and the Bucs defeated the then-Oilers, 41-23.

The Bucs last played the Titans in the regular season in December of 2003. Tennessee downed Tampa Bay in that contest, 33-13.

BUCS-TITANS SERIES: Tampa Bay is 5-1 all-time in preseason against Houston/Tennessee. The Bucs have won three straight exhibition contests vs. the Oilers/Titans.

BUCS INJURY REPORT: Several players, including fullbacks Mike Alstott and Rick Razzano, tackle Derrick Deese, guard Matt Stinchcomb and running back Charlie Garner have been ruled out of Friday night’s game vs. the Titans due to their respective injuries.
