The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will hold preliminary cheerleader tryouts at the University of South Florida Sun Dome Corral on April 1.

Pre-audition classes will be offered on March 27 and 28 in two sessions: 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. or 8:00 to 9:30 p.m.. The pre-audition class costs $55 and includes application processing, choreography, audition tips and a CD of workshop and audition music.

Those who choose not to take advantage of the pre-audition classes offered on March 27 and 28 still must pay a $15 application fee at the preliminary auditions on April 1.

Check-in time for the preliminary cheerleader tryout at the USF Sun Dome Corral is 8:00 a.m. Semi-final auditions will be held starting at 10:00 a.m. on April 2.

Women interested in auditioning for the Bucs’ 2006 cheerleader squad must be over the age of 18 or turn 18 by July 1, 2006. They also must have a high school diploma or GED by July 1, 2006.

While hundreds are expected to audition, up to 34 women will be selected for the Bucs cheerleader squad. In addition to performing at Bucs home games, the cheerleaders make routine appearances at community and corporate functions.
