With the waiver claim deadline over now, and the Buccaneers having first chance to claim players, Sunday could be a busy day as Tampa Bay works to finalize their 53-man roster and prepare for next week’s season opener against the Titans.

PewterReport.com will track any acquisitions and/or releases by the team all afternoon.

12:12 p.m.
• Buccaneers claim LB James-Michael Johnson of waivers from Chiefs according to tweets that said his agent reported the move. Johnson was a fourth-round selection in the 2012 draft and notched 51 tackles for Kansas City in 2014.

12:45 p.m.
• Per Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times citing the agent, Bucs claimed center Eric Kush from Chiefs, a 2013 sixth-round draft pick. Kush, who played his college ball at Cal, has played in three games, and started one in 2013.

12:48 p.m.
• Ian Rapoport tweets Bucs have claimed DE/LB Kourtnei Brown, LB Jeremiah George and QB Ryan Griffin. Brown has been a featured player on HBO’s Hard Knocks TV show and had a solid camp and preseason, notching three sacks and an INT returned for a touchdown. George is a Clearwater native who was a fifth-round draft pick by the Jets in 2014 and played for Iowa State. Griffin was 24 of 41 for 264 with a touchdown and an interception in preseason action for the Saints and played for Tulane.

The Buccaneers have since confirmed all of the waiver claims and also released TE Cameron Brate, G Kadeem Edwards, OT Reid Fragel, WR Rannell Hall and LB Jason Williams.

4 p.m.
• The Buccaneers have begun assembling their 10-man practice squad and according to Greg Auman’s of the Tampa Bay Times Twitter account, have added WR Donteea Dye, LB Josh Keyes, DBJude Adjei-Barimah, plus LB Howard Jones, CB Imoan Claiborne. The Bucs are thought to be hoping to add Rannell Hall to the practice squad, but he must first clear waivers as he wasn’t released until earlier today.

Johnson is also a special teams guy, if he fills in there, a good pick up. I sure hope the O line and DE gets addressed as well.

Mark, I trust you and Scott will be along to help us understand the moves. I assume QB Ryan Griffin is a covert espionage Saints playbook pick ala Belichick style. lol. Seriously trying to see where they are going here!

Still no o-line help. There were several out there that would be an upgrade to our putride line.
