Coen made the Bucs scoring average jump by 8 or 9 points.

I think the Jags scoring average is up roughy 2 points.  They just put up only 7 against the Rams

id have to look but my guess would be that the greatest are of improves for the Jags has been the run game.  That has also been the weakest comparison point for Grizz. As I pointed out in another post Coen is next level good at run game but it's also true that the #1 area of impact of injury for the Bucs offense is run game. No Irving and 1/2 a line (only as of recently).  You should be abject se the impact just in our limited use of things like counter runs, Coens favorite, and pony and more. All things that take a reliable line.

Corn also killed defense early with RECORD SETTING use of Godwin.  Not playing now. The 2025 pre-bye offense resembles the 2024 offense against TD the 49ers then it does the first 5 weeks with Godwin and a mostly healthy line and Irving

It looked good on paper until half of the line disappeared before the season.

Grizz didn’t get the solid line play that Coen walked into. I don’t actually think we’ve seen Grizz’s offense. He & Carberry have been patching together an o-line for 8 games now.

If Luke returns after the bye, that should improve. Cuz we all know it all starts up front.

Getting Bucky back with Luke would just be icing on the cake… throw in CG & JMac at some point and the back half of the season would look like a totally different offense. Would be nice to pick up a win against Pats, Bill’s or Rams… but it isn’t necessary as long as we close strong.

I haven't seen anything that explains his foot injury that he re-injured 12 plays in.

I have seen suggestions he's not coming back this season.  Ugh

Yeah, I’ve been hearing the same. It’s why I’m curious to see if any options can be found in a trade. The way we deal with mid/season trades is to NOT participate, or grab an aging vet on a short term rental.

If we play Heck at RT the rest of the season we will struggle to score 20 on offense given the recent play calling.

Hopefully Goedeke gets healthy enough to play this season.  We're not going to find a functional RT to trade for 8 weeks into the season.  Any decent OTs are on somebody's roster and won't be for sale.  The only Ots that would be available are going to be trash, which is why they'd be available.

I don't disagree but if you went to a team like the titans Jets etc and offered a third round pick for a serviceable RT they'd take it

I'm not saying we should do that but we could.

Because Heck is literally the what... Third worst tackle in the league?

This is one thing that makes this season so interesting. Bucs are off to a strong start. Super Bowl aspirations, but with a team that is the model for building through the draft. Do they stray from that formula or show patience?

I think Heck rated out worse than that a couple weeks ago, tbh.  And it's not like I know that much about OTs that might be available or whatever, I'm strictly going by what KC went through trying to find just playable OTs the last couple-three seasons.  And from what I observed, even teams that were tanking and having fire sales on their rosters would hang onto their backup OTs like they were gold bricks.  So just based on that I think it's going to be tough sledding as far as finding a OT better than Heck.  I hope I turn out to be wrong though.

What might be possible, imo, is finding a better solution at RG.  Just maybe there's a vet that isn't playing right now for whatever reason that Licht can coax off the couch.  That might be enough of an upgrade, IF we get say a healthier Godwin back and either JMac returns (doesn't sound likely right now I know) or Licht can acquire another starting-caliber WR.  Or, and now I'm just blueskying, we trade for Breece Hall instead of a WR.  Baker doesn't need the greatest OL ever, he just needs enough time to get the ball out to someone besides the checkdown every snap.  An upgrade at either WR, TE or Rb might just be enough?

I get staying with a process of building through the draft, especially when it seems like you have had some wins for the last few years with some great drafts, and that the strength of the draft is falling where you need specific positions.

However, Bucs have an accelerated time clock because we now have a 30 y/o QB that takes a lot of hits. We have to strike pretty quickly.

Maybe add some trades/one year rentals to get where you need to be while the window is still propped open.

That might be enough of an upgrade, IF we get say a healthier Godwin back and either JMac returns (doesn't sound likely right now I know) or Licht can acquire another starting-caliber WR.

IF we get Godwin back this year (BIG IF), he's going to be a shell of what he once was. We already witnessed it firsthand.

Had to have a 2nd surgery to essentially re-break the ankle due to improper healing (never reported), and now you're seeing what can be classified as a "compensation" injury to the fibula.

While our resident Liquored Up Litigator thinks it's comical, and "LOL's" about it every chance she can, it's such a shame that we're going to lose Godwin's prime to coaching malpractice.

And, you have to start to wonder if JMac will ever play again, let alone this season.

As I said in a previous thread, WR is an immediate need in the 2026 draft.

My brother had Godwin last year in FF and he was playing me that game... He was down like 3 near the end and wanting him to stay in. Literally 30 seconds before the injury I said "if Bowles leaves him in here and he gets hurt I will rage". Next play... Next fucking play.

At least I won my game... Jfc
