For example a well timed screen
Your guy Tez just had a great one.
well timed to the play calling gripes in the game day thread lol
The difference between talented route runners gaining separation and the actual play fooling the defense. Watch Andy Reid for example... Plays where average WRs are running open on broken coverage etc.
Well, at least we have some parameters now. Grizz is somewhere between "incompetent" and 3 time Super Bowl winning HoF play caller
Bucs defense has needed to be bailed out in multiple games by the offense. Your bias showing as the offense has been bailing out due the defense failing to finish the 4th quarter of games.
Grizzard has schemed open Egbuka on posts multiple games outside of the Seahawks game so once again your bias is showing through. Grizzard scheming is elite when it comes to the passing game when he can involve so many pass catchers, but needs work in run game and short yardage situations. But that will fixed once the Ol is more stable on the right side.
My bias is showing? Lol wut... My screen name is "fire bowles".
Egbuka is getting open because he runs great routes... He's not running free nor is anyone else... And that doesn't mean it hasn't happened. It means it's not happening enough or in critical moments.
He's not elite at anything yet. That's an insane take
Those posts in that Texans game were set up by Grizzard's play calling. Egbuka running crisp routs is the chef's kiss. Also, the reason why Tez and Egbuka are on this team is a good part because Grizzard wants to push the ball downfield with more reliable pass catchers which pushed Palmer off the roster.
Grizzard scheming is elite when it comes to the passing game when he can involve so many pass catchers
If Grizz is "elite", then Liam was God.
Coen is very good but Coen had help with his passing game coordination last year. His name is Grizzard.
Mayfield is being more careful with the football but Grizzard is setting him up for success to cut down on turnovers and that is why injuries along the OL and WR as he only has 2 INTs so far. Grizzard has to receive some credit along with Mayfield for playing winning football with half the chess board missing Once the oline is shored up that is when Mayfield can take off. Mayfield is on a very good pacing so far and it has led to more wins compared to last season. Statistically he is very similar in numbers and may eclipse his numbers last season but it is too early to tell.
Need to find ways to be clutch along with fooling defenses. As Baker could be up for MVP discussion. Not having Mike Evans will hurt the team. As need some receivers to hold down the fort for him.
Mayfield's MVP push seems stronger this year than last year although last year he put up impressive numbers. But the high INT mark indicates that despite a running game and play action that Mayfield was pushing the ball into wrong windows or the play calling was putting him in a bind.
This year the deep ball that Mayfield was known for as a Brown is back and it seems that he is more in tune with the pass play calls which is why he has 2 INTs so far in 8 games versus 16 INTs versus 17 games last year.

Andy Reid won ZERO Super Bowls with average WR's and his scheme. The Eagles back then were high on their own drugs thinking their scheme can overcome lack of talent at WR and LB under Banner and Reid leadership. As soon as he adds Hill and TO to his scheme Reid is able to advance for Super Bowls.
Andy Reid also can't figure out or scheme against basic cover 2 and cover 3 principles and he has had 20+ years to figure out. The Eagles and Bucs abused the Chiefs in both recent Super Bowls exploiting this common knowledge.
Always fun to pick a side in the which OC is better. I’ll take the one who is 6-2 and has beaten some of the top defenses in the league to get there.
Coen’s O in Jacksonville with way more healthy talent, is sub-par.
You guys are just talking out your ass.
Reid won 2 super bowls without Hill. He went to another...
The offense has regressed. Part of that is due to injury, yes.
Grizz has also called a few gems but also a few duds... And he's getting absolutely bailed out by Baker's legs and backyard football.
Again as an example, the Eagles game. Both long TDs were scramble drills. That means ZERO CREDIT to Grizz and all credit to Baker improv.
"Top NFL defenses in "Havoc" which is the % of plays a defense gets a pressure, TFL, forced fumble, INT, or pass breakup: 1. Buccaneers (42.8%) T2. Broncos (41.7%) T2. Seahawks (41.7%) 4. Lions (41.6%) 5. Rams (41.5%) 6. Chargers (41%) 7. Texans (40.8%) 8. Packers (40.6%) 9. Vikings (40.3%) 10. Bills (39.6%)

He literally won one a few years ago with Juju and MVS as the team’s leading receivers.
Come on…
Regarding Grizz, I don’t like it (your analysis), but I can’t argue with it. You acknowledged the impact injuries played on play calling - but he seems to have had some clunker games with no answers. I think more of those head-scratcher games are due to a lack a line and available WR depth, and no Bucky (who is a real force multiplier in the run-game). Without the depth and Bucky, we’re an average to below average offense. You guys are just talking out your ass.

Sure, bud.
Kind of wild that someone who “can’t figure out or scheme against basic Cover 2 or Cover 3 principles” boast a resume that includes:
- Nearly 300 wins
- .651 winning percentage
- 17 seasons producing Top-10 scoring offenses
- 3 Super Bowl wins, and future 1st ballot Canton inductee.
Wild…

agree
Almost every season an early narrative arises. Sometimes it's spot on sometimes it's not. Canales was running because Bowles forced him to run. Mayfield was the problem, missing wide open receivers under Canales.
the "Griss is the problem" narrative was almost impossible to avoid given how well things went with Coen but it's worth at least considering that that narrative begins, I think, in game 1 where we have the entire line jumbled etc.
the truth is somewhere in between so maybe best to at least hold back on some judgement until we get a healthy line and Irving

If you think Reid can win super bowls without top tier WR talent you are crazy.
