San Francisco 49ers free agent defensive end Marques Douglas spent Tuesday visiting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
According to his agent, Douglas has another visit scheduled this week.
Douglas originally entered the NFL out of Howard in 2000. He has played for New Orleans, Baltimore and most recently San Francisco, where he's spent the past three seasons.
The 6-foot-2, 292-pound Douglas has notched 299 career tackles, 19 sacks and six forced fumbles. The Bucs could be looking at Douglas as a player that can play both defensive end and defensive tackle in their Cover 2 scheme.
Douglas, who has played in 88 career games, notched three sacks for the 49ers last season.
