The rate of positive test to hospitalization will absolutely continue to drop as we test and find more positives among people showing little/no symptoms. What we need to keep close eye on are area specific hospitalization (most importantly ICU capacity) so we don’t swamp a health care system in any given area. As well as the health care worker positivity rate/quarantine scheduling to ensure we maintain proper staffing. Yes, we will have more hospitalizations. That trends logically. While keeping an eye on the overall goal of not over taxing our health care system to the point of collapse. Preventing people from ever testing positive is not a reasonable goal outside a select very vulnerable population we should be shooting for 0 positive cases from.
