The civil case will more than likely be settled. Usually cases are settled without an admission of liability. If that is the case, could this have any adverse effect in terms of the NFL or the team? I doubt that it would have an effect, as it is a civil matter and there would be no judgment entered. If there ends up being a judgment, it probably would not take place for at least 6 months, and there may be an appeal. Assuming that there ends up being a civil judgment after the exhaustion of the civil process, I don’t know whether the team or the NFL could suspend AB based strictly on a civil judgment. A criminal matter would be an entirely different animal.
