In essence, what you seem to be arguing for is direct democracy. I know we’ve been there before but I think I remember you backtracking on that. The United States is a Representative Democracy. That makes the act of voting even more an act of personal responsibility.

If you recall your history, there have been many instances of coercion used against ethnic populations and it is at least as unseemly as any of the current “voter suppression” going on now. You had roving gangs rounding up all the Irish people to make sure they voted for O’mally and in another neighborhood, gangs rounding up Italians to vote for Cuomo… lol

Forcing people to vote does not make our democracy better it makes it way more scary.

LEAVE IT TO JBEAR TO SAY THAT A REPRESENTAIRVE DEMOCRACY IS BETTER SERVED BY LESS VOTERS? WTF? Its is precisely because we are REPRESENTATIVE democracy that it should be imperative to get as many people to vote as possible so that the ELECTED representatives actually reflect the people they represent.

The only way that post by you would be funnier is if you simultaneously posted that a poll was invalid BECAUSE OF ITS SMALL SAMPLE SIZE

(JBear, kidding aside, you have once again talked your self into a corner. This is precisely what happens when the arguments are illogical or not genuine)
