It can Hate, depending on whether it has any copper in it but it is made up of tin alloys. Think tin can. Only with age does it lose its tinny finish. Like I said, calling charcoal grey pewter is like calling the color green cooper. Its just stupid.
I know right? It's like calling it white, when it's clearly EGGSHELL! Good Lord...
