And what convinces you that Mariota or any other rookie QB are the answer?

The only college games I've watched this year have been Florida State games.  And the only thing that has convinced me of is that Winston would benefit from another year in college, assuming that even winds up being an option for him.  I have no particular personal opinion on Mariota.  What I'm saying is that in my opinion, if the *team* is conviced after proper scouting that Mariota (or other rookie QB) has a chance to be the answer, it'd be silly of them to pass on him just because Glennon might maybe improve to the point where he becomes a really good quarterback.  Teams have no way of knowing when the next chance they have to draft someone who might be the answer.  Those opportunities simply don't come along every year.

Lovie was convinced that McCown was the answer, so much so that he didn't even have a QB competition. Lovie started Rex Grossman for how many years?Needless to say, I have no confidence in Lovie choosing the right QB.

That is a completely different conversation.  Should the Bucs take a QB vice are L&L competent enough to select the right QB are not the same thing.

Please wait…
