You can't always draft for need. BPA makes them a better team overall. Especially when you are drafting someone who is going to put points on the scoreboard. I had no problem with that pick.
I didn't have a big problem with the pick either but you could easily argue if Sims was the best player available. There were a few backs that went after him that were considered better prospects. There were a quite a few guards with higher overall grades that went after him as well which just so happened to be a team need. If anything they probably reached on Sims because he fit what Tedford wants to do on offense and disregarded BPA.
